Eyelid Chemical Peel

Eyelid chemical peel is a resurfacing procedure used to reduce fine wrinkling particularly in the lower eyelid and crowsfeet areas. It may be done as a stand-alone procedure or at the same time as blepharoplasty eyelid surgery (which can removed extra skin but not address fine wrinkling in damaged skin).

While there are many forms of eyelid chemical peel, many include the use of TCA, or trichloroacetic acid, in different concentrations. Generally, the stronger the concentration, the deeper the penetration.

The most common eyelid chemical peel used with blepharoplasty employs TCA in a concentration of 35% and generally achieves a medium depth penetration.
